What we believe.
Collard Valley Baptist holds firm to a set of core beliefs rooted in Scripture and guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ. We believe in one triune God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. We also believe in the authority and infallibility of the Bible, viewing it as the complete and final revelation of God's will for humanity. We emphasize the importance of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone, recognizing that it is by God's grace that individuals are saved, not by their own works. We affirm the concept of believer's baptism, where individuals publicly declare their faith through immersion in water. Through these beliefs, we seek to serve our congregation, community, and world in love and obedience to God.
At Collard Valley Baptist, in addition to the core beliefs rooted in Scripture and guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, we also observe the sacraments of baptism and communion. Baptism is an important practice where individuals publicly declare their faith through immersion in water. It symbolizes the believer's identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, we also observe the sacrament of communion, also known as the Lord's Supper or the Eucharist. This is a sacred time where we remember and proclaim the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross and the new covenant established through his blood. It is a time of reflection, gratitude, and unity as we partake in the bread and the cup, symbolizing the body and blood of Christ. By upholding these beliefs and practices, we aim to serve our congregation, community, and world in love and obedience to God.
